KMAA members are invited to submit their artwork for the next Northern Westchester Hospital Art Display. The collaborative effort between the Katonah Museum Artists' Association and Northern Westchester Hospital provides an unusual and important opportunity for KMAA Members to exhibit their work, and more importantly, to brighten the daily lives of patients, doctors, hospital staff, and visitors. This decades long program, started by KMAA President Emeritus, Dyan Rosenberg, continues to enrich and communicate with the public.

NWH statement: “Imagery in a hospital environment aims to be calming, peaceful, joyful, inspiring, hopeful, colorful and bright, allowing patients, visitors and staff to take an emotional vacation, as they move through the hospital corridors."

NWH Art Display Criteria

   · For safety purposes all artwork must be in the dimensions specified below

   · Proposed selections will be reviewed by the Hospital’s Patient and Family Partnership Council in advance. KMAA will notify the artists of their selection and next steps for exhibition

   · Work to be considered includes abstract and realistic genres, still life, landscape, and collage. We are currently not accepting portraits or works that are figurative in nature. Work must be culturally sensitive and respectful of race, gender, ethnicity, and belief systems. Images that are political, figurative (the human body and form), controversial, display unhealthy behaviors, suggestive poses or nudes are not accepted. This exhibition is curated by KMAA Board Members.

   · NOTE: Artwork submitted must not have previously been shown in past Healing Hallways Exhibitions.

   Please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting.

 Guidelines

   ·  Each artist may submit up to 3 pieces of wall art no smaller than 18" by 24", no larger than 36" in any given direction, and not heavier than 20 lbs.

   ·  All images submitted must be 300dpi and no larger than 2mb and 10” on the longest side.

   ·  All pieces MUST be labeled on the back with artist name, title of piece, medium, price, and phone number. 

   ·  Artwork must be wired and ready for hanging and must be able to be hung on the hospital’s installed gallery hanging system. The hospital will hang each artist’s work with the help of volunteers from the KMAA

   ·  Works on paper must be framed under Plexiglas (no glass). No art with fragile pieces or sharp projections.

   ·  All accepted artists dropping off work must unwrap their pieces and remove all packing materials.

   ·  Reminder only artwork new to the Healing Hallways of Art will be considered. Any works that have participated in past exhibitions will not be eligible. 

   ·  NWH will handle sale requests directly with the artist. The buyer will be responsible for payment directly to the artist, including sales tax.

   ·  The selling price per piece must be less than $10,000. Participating artists will donate 20% of each sale made to NWH.

   ·  The Museum has waived a commission but would welcome a donation from the artist if a sale is made as a result of this exhibition.

   ·  Artists must be current with their KMAA membership for the run of the show to be considered. If you need to check your membership, please email www.katonahmuseum.org/membership.

   ·  The exhibit will run for 12-months, and work cannot be removed until the close of the show unless sold.

   ·  The artist is responsible for providing an artist statement (200 words or less) with price list including sales tax. 

   ·  The artist is responsible for dropping off and picking up artwork during specified times. There is NO storage of work after the close of the show. KMAA, KMA and NWH will not be responsible for work not picked up during the designated hours. If someone other than the artist is picking up work, there must be permission in writing.

   ·  It is strongly advised that artists carry their own liability insurance. Northern Westchester Hospital nor the KMAA or KMA are responsible for theft or damage to the artwork. The hospital is secure and has security guards and surveillance cameras.

Important Dates:

Submissions: 8/24/2026 - 9/11/2026

Notification of Accepted Work: 9/28/2026

Drop Off of Accepted Work: 10/21/2026 from 9:30am-12:30pm Artists are required to sign the NWH Artist Release/Waiver of Liability, in-person at drop-off.

Exhibition: 10/22/2026-10/12/2027

Pick up of Work: 10/13/2027 (Time TBD, closer to the date)

Participating artists agree to: 1) make their piece of art available for the duration of the show unless sold; 2) will assume full responsibility and costs associated to package and ship or deliver their artwork to a buyer including the use of their own appropriate insurance; 3) be able to ship or deliver their purchased piece of art within seven (7) days of being notified of such sale;  4) allow the KMAA, KMA & NWH to show their piece of art on any of their online and print platforms for the purposes of publicity and otherwise; artists agree to hold harmless the Katonah Museum Artists' Association, the Katonah Museum of Art, NWH, their agents, servants, and employees, from any claim of damage or theft that might arise from any cause whatsoever. It is a requirement of entry to the exhibition that all of the conditions stated above be understood and agreed to by virtue of the artist submitting work via this entry Form.
